3. Scratching an Itch

If you are keen on studying your cat, you might have noticed that every now and then it tends to rub its face against the corners of bookcases, walls and several hard projects.  For your cat, the feeling of having the area under its whiskers rubbed is heavenly. When your cat is gnawing on your nose, it is not because it wants to eat you up or bite you.

On the contrary, it wants to rub the sensitive area at the corners of its mouth. Rather than pushing her away, you should stick your fingers straight to your cat’s face. Let it rub against your fingers and bite them instead. This will be less awkward than biting your nose.

4. It is a Display of Affection

Cats have weird way of showing affection. And different cat breeds have their unique ways depending on their personality. 5. Angry Cat

When your cat gives you the love bite, it should not hurt in the least. As a matter of fact, it should be ticklish and you should be laughing the whole time. However, if your cat has her eyes dilated, her ears down and she is growling while at it, chances are she is angry. Be sure to take safety precautions and put her on the floor. Learn your cat’s tells. If your cat will try and scratch you after petting it for about 5 minutes, try and cap your petting to 3 minutes instead.

When your cat conducts itself in a behavior you deem acceptable, you should reward and praise it. You could do this by providing it with some tasty treats or even petting it. This will have your cat think of petting as a great and positive thing.

Training Your Cat as a Kitten

The reason your cat is biting you now is because as a kitten you led it to believe that it was okay behavior. As a kitten, the teeth were feeble and the claws were tiny and harmless. Its best efforts as a kitten to harm you were cute. However, as an adult, your cat has more strength to cause you great damage with the least effort. So while it might feel like it is too soon, train your kitten to think of your hand as a personal toy.

Other ways of training your kitten include blowing its face every time she bites your nose. Your cat will make a funny face and will not like it.

Also, try distracting it with a toy. Biting your nose might be a sign that it wants to play. So rather than having it chew on your nose, hand it a toy.

If your kitten proves to be aggressive, full of energy you cannot seem to exhaust with the little time you have in your hands, you should consider getting your cat another cat to play with.
